Chicago's O'Hare International Airport handles more passengers than any other airport in the world. For visitors needing information or directions, airport information booths are located on the lower levels of the domestic terminals and on the upper and lower levels of the International Terminal. Midway Airport is located at 5700 Cicero Avenue, 20 minutes from downtown Chicago. The one-building airport is divided into three terminals.
With so much to do and see in Chicago, it's great to know that getting around via public or private transportation is easy. To get your wheels turning, you can find transportation resources for all your needs.
Chicago boasts over 40 miles of new or improved bikeways and more than 5,000 bike racks. Sightseeing downtown? Chicago's Free Trolleys are a great way to get around.
The Chicago Transit Authority (CTA) offers fast, direct train service from both airports to downtown, convenient bus and train lines to major attractions, simple fare cards, easy-to-use maps and brochures, and custom trip planning for groups. The CTA system map and Downtown Sightseeing Guide are available at all train stations, both airports, visitor information centers and hotels. You can also plan your trip online!
50 trains arrive or depart Chicago daily from Chicago's Union Station. Cabs are readily available on both the upper and lower levels of Chicago Union Station. Hop aboard Metra, where all tracks lead to fun. Metra operates 12 commuter rail lines into downtown Chicago from the six-county area of northeast Illinois.
